Zaratustra, também conhecido na versão grega de seu nome Zoroastres ou Zoroastro (Ζωροάστρης Zōroastrēs), foi um profeta e poeta nascido na Pérsia (atual Irão) no século VII a.C. Ele foi o fundador do Masdeísmo ou Zoroastrismo, religião adotada oficialmente pelo Império Aquemênida (558–330 a.C.) que pode ter sido a primeira religião monoteísta ética da história (existem debates acadêmicos inconclusivos sobre o assunto). A denominação grega Ζωροάστρης (Zōroastrēs) significa contemplador de astros, sendo uma corruptela do avéstico Zarathustra (em avéstico: 𐬰𐬀𐬭𐬀𐬚𐬎𐬱𐬙𐬭𐬀, Zaraθuštra; em persa moderno: Zartosht ou زرتشت).
