Epicurus (Oudgrieks: Ἐπίκουρος, Epikouros, Nederlands, verouderd: Epicuur) (341 v.Chr. - 270 v.Chr.) was een Griekse filosoof en stichter van de epicuristische school in het hellenistische Athene. Hij was een zeer productief denker en zou meer hebben geschreven dan elke filosoof voor hem. Van al deze geschriften zijn er slechts drie brieven en een honderdtal leerstellingen overgeleverd.
