Robert Boyle
Robert Boyle FRS ([bɔɪl]; Lismore, 25 de janeiro de 1627 – Londres, 31 de dezembro de 1691) foi um filósofo natural, químico, físico, alquimista e inventor anglo-irlandês. Boyle é amplamente considerado hoje como o primeiro químico moderno e, portanto, um dos fundadores da química moderna e um dos pioneiros do método científico experimental moderno. Ele é mais conhecido pela lei de Boyle, que descreve a relação inversamente proporcional entre a pressão absoluta e o volume de um gás, se a temperatura for mantida constante dentro de um sistema fechado.
