マクシミリアン・フランソワ・マリー・イジドール・ド・ロベスピエール（仏: Maximilien François Marie Isidore de Robespierre, 1758年5月6日 - 1794年7月28日）は、フランス革命期の有力な政治家であり、代表的な革命家。 ロベスピエールは国民議会や国民公会で代議士として頭角をあらわし、左翼のジャコバン派および山岳派の指導者として民衆と連帯した革命を構想。直接に参加した事件は最高存在の祭典とテルミドール9日のクーデターのみであり、言論活動によって権力を得た。 しかし国外の第一次対仏大同盟によるフランス革命戦争、内部のヴァンデの反乱に代表される反乱に直面し、危機的状況にあった革命政府では非常事態を乗り越え革命を存続させるため、敵を徹底的に排除する事を目的に恐怖政治が支持される。 ウィキペディアで詳細を読む
