Wilhelm Reich (Dobzau, 24 marzo 1897 – Lewisburg, 3 novembre 1957) è stato un medico, psichiatra e psicoanalista austriaco naturalizzato statunitense. Allievo di Sigmund Freud, divenne noto per le sue ricerche sul ruolo sociale della sessualità, per i suoi studi sul rapporto fra autoritarismo e repressione sessuale, nonché per la sua teoria sulla cosiddetta "energia orgonica". Arrestato dall'FBI poiché un collega aveva trasportato materiale del loro laboratorio attraversando il confine tra due stati, violando pertanto una legge federale, fu assolto da queste accuse, ma fu condannato lo stesso per oltraggio alla corte a due anni di carcere senza condizionale; morì per un malore in prigione nel 1957, una settimana prima della prevista libertà sulla parola.
