Jacques René Chirac (/ʒak ʁə'ne ʃi'ʁak/; Parigi, 29 novembre 1932 – Parigi, 26 settembre 2019) è stato un politico e funzionario francese. Fondatore dei due principali partiti del centro-destra francese, il Raggruppamento per la Repubblica e l'Unione per un Movimento Popolare, all'interno delle istituzioni francesi è stato primo ministro dal 1974 al 1976 con Valéry Giscard d'Estaing e dal 1986 al 1988 con François Mitterrand e sindaco di Parigi dal 1977 al 1995. Nel 1981 e nel 1988 si candidò alla presidenza senza successo per il partito da lui fondato e guidato, il Raggruppamento per la Repubblica.
