João Crisóstomo (Antioquia, c. 347 – Comana Pôntica, 14 de setembro de 407) foi um arcebispo de Constantinopla e um dos mais importantes patronos do cristianismo primitivo. É conhecido por suas poderosas homilias, por sua habilidade em oratória, por sua denúncia dos abusos cometidos por líderes políticos e eclesiásticos de sua época, por sua "Divina Liturgia" e por suas práticas ascetas. O epíteto Χρυσόστομος ("Chrysostomos", em português "Crisóstomo") significa "da boca de ouro" em língua grega e lhe foi dado por conta de sua lendária eloquência.
