Martin John Gilbert (Londen, 25 oktober 1936 – 3 februari 2015) was een Brits historicus, lid van het Merton College, Universiteit van Oxford, commandeur van de Orde van het Britse Rijk en lid van de Geheimraad van Groot-Brittannië. Hij schreef van meer dan tachtig boeken, waaronder werken over de Holocaust en de Joodse geschiedenis. Hij werd vooral bekend als de officiële biograaf van Winston Churchill.
