Ernst Boris Chain (Berlino, 17 giugno 1906 – Castlebar, 12 agosto 1979) è stato un farmacologo e biochimico tedesco naturalizzato britannico. Assieme all'anatomopatologo australiano Howard Walter Florey isolò e purificò la penicillina, scoperta nel 1928 da Alexander Fleming, ed eseguì il primo trial clinico su questo antibiotico.
