Terrance Stanley Fox, dit Terry Fox, est un athlète, humanitaire et militant canadien pour la recherche dédiée au traitement du cancer, né le 28 juillet 1958 à Winnipeg (Manitoba) et mort le 28 juin 1981 à New Westminster (Colombie-Britannique). Il devient célèbre pour son « Marathon de l'espoir », un périple trans-canadien qu'il entreprit afin de prélever des fonds pour la recherche contre le cancer ; il courut ce marathon malgré une jambe artificielle. Il est considéré comme un des plus grands héros canadiens du XXe siècle.
