Jenny Julia Eleanor Marx, parfois Aveling ou Marx-Aveling, surnommée « Tussy », est une écrivaine et militante socialiste britannique, née à Londres (Soho) le 16 janvier 1855 et morte dans cette même ville (à Sydenham) le 31 mars 1898. Très proche de son père, Karl Marx, Eleanor Marx envisagea un temps une carrière théâtrale avant de se consacrer à l'édition des écrits paternels. D'abord fiancée au communard Prosper-Olivier Lissagaray, elle se lia, après avoir rompu ses fiançailles, avec Edward Aveling en 1884. Celui-ci étant déjà marié, ils vécurent en union libre.
