James Richard Perry (Haskell, Texas, 4 de marzo de 1950), conocido como Rick Perry, es un político estadounidense, gobernador del Estado de Texas entre 2000 y 2015. También fue el 39.º vicegobernador de Texas de 1999 a 2000. Nacido en una familia de agricultores de algodón en Haskell, Texas, Perry se graduó de la Universidad Texas A&M en 1972 y entró en la Fuerza Aérea de los Estados Unidos, cumpliendo un período de cinco años y alcanzando el rango de capitán. Después de dejar la Fuerza Aérea en 1977, Perry regresó a Texas y entró en la política, sirviendo como miembro demócrata de la Cámara de Representantes de Texas de 1985 a 1991.
