海軍上校詹姆斯·庫克，FRS，RN[?]（英語：Captain James Cook，1728年11月7日—1779年2月14日），人稱庫克船長（Captain Cook），英國皇家海軍軍官、航海家、探險家、製圖師，他曾經三度奉命出海前往太平洋，帶領船員成為首批登陸澳洲東岸和夏威夷群島的歐洲人，也創下首次有歐洲船隻環繞紐西蘭航行的紀錄。 庫克年少時曾於英國商船隊服役，1755年加入皇家海軍後，他參與過七年戰爭，後來又在魁北克圍城戰役期間協助繪製聖勞倫斯河河口大部份地區的地圖，戰後在1760年代為紐芬蘭島製作多張精細的地圖。庫克繪製地圖的才能獲得海軍部和皇家學會的青睞，促成他在1766年獲委任為HMS奮進號司令，首度出海往太平洋探索。 庫克曾經三度出海前往太平洋地區，在數千公里的航程途中深入不少地球上未為西方所知的地帶。 在维基百科上阅读更多
