Vercingetórix ou Vercingétorix (Auvérnia, 80 a.C. – Roma, 46 a.C.) foi o chefe gaulês do povo dos arvernos que liderou a grande revolta gaulesa contra os romanos entre 53 a.C. — 52 a.C. Seu nome em gaulês é composto por ver ("acima de", "supremo" ou "grande"), cingéto ("guerreiro") e rix ("o rei" ou "o chefe"). Caso se considere que o ver se aplique a rei ou a guerreiros, seu nome significaria "chefe supremo dos guerreiros" ou "o chefe dos grandes guerreiros".
