Jeremiah
Jeremias (em hebraico: יִרְמְיָהוּ, hebraico moderno: Yīrməyahū, em hebraico tiberiano: Yīrəməyāhū; em grego: Ἰερεμίας, romanizado: Ieremíās; "Yah Exalta") foi um profeta, escritor e poeta hebreu. Foi um dos principais profetas do Antigo Testamento, conhecido por anunciar e lamentar o cativeiro babilônico e por ter escrito, segundo a tradição judaica, os livros de Jeremias, Lamentações e Reis, em companhia do seu escriba Baruque. Seu pai era Hilquias, um dos sacerdotes de Anatote, e segundo os livros Reis e Crônicas foi o responsável por achar o livro da lei, dando início a uma reforma religiosa no reinado de Josias.
