Edward Theodore Gein, mais conhecido como Ed Gein o ‘O Açougueiro de Plainfield’ (Plainfield, Wisconsin, 27 de agosto de 1906 – Madison, Wisconsin, 26 de julho de 1984), foi um assassino e ladrão de cadáveres humanos americano, posteriormente condenado pelo homicídio de duas pessoas; sendo ainda um forte suspeito de ter matado outras sete pessoas, totalizando nove supostas vítimas. Cresceu em um ambiente opressivo de rigidez moral e isolamento social.
