Najat Vallaud-Belkacem (French pronunciation: [naʒat valo bɛlkasɛm]; Arabic: نجاة فالو بلقاسم; Riffian-Berber: ⵏⴰⵊⴰⵜ ⴱⵍⵇⴰⵙⵎ; born 4 October 1977) is a Moroccan-born French former politician and jurist. A member of the Socialist Party (PS), she served in a number of ministerial positions during the presidency of François Hollande. Vallaud-Belkacem was the first woman to serve as Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Research, holding the position from 2014 to 2017 under Prime Ministers Manuel Valls and Bernard Cazeneuve. In 2014, opinion polling found Vallaud-Belkacem to be among the most popular politicians in the country. Read more on Wikipedia
