Lindsay Marie Whalen (born May 9, 1982) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Whalen played college basketball at the University of Minnesota, and led the team to its only NCAA tournament Final Four appearance in 2004. Selected fourth overall in the 2004 WNBA draft by the Connecticut Sun, Whalen played for 15 seasons in the WNBA with the Sun and the Lynx, and is considered one of the better point guards in WNBA history. Whalen won two World titles and two Olympic gold medals with the United States women's national basketball team, as well as four WNBA championships with the Minnesota Lynx. Read more on Wikipedia
