Kumi Naidoo (born 1965) is a South African human rights and climate justice activist. He is the current President of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative, a joint diplomatic and civil society campaign to create a treaty to stop fossil fuel exploration and expansion and phase-out existing production in line with the targets of the Paris Climate Agreement, while supporting a just transition to renewable energy. He was International Executive Director of Greenpeace International (from 2009 through 2015) and Secretary General of Amnesty International (from 2018 through 2019). Naidoo served as the Secretary-General of CIVICUS, the international alliance for citizen participation, from 1998 to 2008. Read more on Wikipedia
