Giuliano de' Medici, Duke of Nemours, was the youngest son of Lorenzo II de' Medici, Duke of Urbino and Giuliano's mother was Madeleine de la Tour d'Auvergne. He was assassinated on February 26, 1516, by the Pazzi family, who were backed by Pope Clement VII.
