Gad (Hebrew: גָּד, Modern: Gad, Tiberian: Gāḏ, "luck") was, according to the Book of Genesis, the first of the two sons of Jacob and Zilpah (and the seventh of Jacob's twelve sons overall) and the founder of the Israelite tribe of Gad.
