Demetrius II Aetolicus was a Macedonian king who ruled from 229 BC to 221 BC. He was the son of Antigonus II Gonatas and his wife Phila. Demetrius II Aetolicus is most famous for his invasion of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt in 217 BC, which ended in a decisive victory for the Ptolemaic army.
