Childeric III (c. 718/728 – c. 755) was King of the Franks from 743 until he was deposed in 751 by Pepin the Short. He was the last Frankish king from the Merovingian dynasty. Once Childeric was deposed, Pepin became king, initiating the Carolingian dynasty. Read more on Wikipedia

Childeric III was the last Merovingian king of the Franks. He was the son of Clovis III and grandson of Clovis II. Childeric III was the last ruler of the Franks from the Merovingian dynasty. He was deposed by the aristocracy in 751 AD.
