Christophorus Henricus Diedericus Buys Ballot (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbœyz bɑˈlɔt]; 10 October 1817 – 3 February 1890) was a Dutch chemist and meteorologist who is the namesake of Buys Ballot's law.
