Anton Ivanovich Denikin (Russian: Антон Иванович Деникин, IPA: [ɐnˈton‿ɨˈvanəvʲɪdʑ‿dʲɪˈnʲikʲɪn]; 16 December [O.S. 4 December] 1872 – 7 August 1947) was a Russian military leader who served as the acting supreme ruler of the Russian State and the commander-in-chief of the White movement–aligned armed forces of South Russia during the Russian Civil War of 1917–1923.
