Ghiyath ibn Ghawth ibn al-Salt ibn Tariqa al-Taghlibi (Arabic: غياث بن غوث بن الصلت بن طارقة التغلبي) commonly known as al-Akhtal (Arabic: الأخطل) (The Loquacious), was one of the most famous Arab poets of the Umayyad period.
