Philippe de Monte

Philippus de Monte (Mechelen, 1521 - Praag, 4 juli 1603) was een Zuid-Nederlandse componist uit de renaissanceperiode die vooral bekend is om zijn madrigalen. Hij was actief over heel Europa. Hij was lid van de derde generatie madrigalisten en was de meest productieve madrigaalcomponist uit zijn tijd.
