Gregory Mathews
Gregory Macalister Mathews (10 september 1876 - 27 maart 1949) was een Australische amateurornitholoog. Mathews verwierf een vermogen dankzij aandelen in de mijnbouw en verhuisde in 1900 naar Engeland en hield zich vooral bezig met de vogelkunde. Tussen 1935 en 1938 was hij voorzitter van de British Ornithologists' Club, wat toen vooral een exclusief gezelschap was van leden van de British Ornithologists' Union dat zich richtte op biogeografie en het ontdekken van nieuwe vogelsoorten.
