William James (Count) Basie (Red Bank, 21 augustus 1904 – Hollywood, 26 april 1984) was een Amerikaanse jazzpianist, organist, bigbandleider en zelfbenoemd "Count of Jazz". Tot zijn bekendste nummers horen One O'Clock Jump and Jumpin' at the Woodside. Een aantal jaren toerde Bill Basie in het vaudevillecircuit als solist en begeleider van blueszangers.
