Papa Pio XII (in latino Pius PP. XII, nato Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli; Roma, 2 marzo 1876 – Castel Gandolfo, 9 ottobre 1958) è stato il 260º papa della Chiesa cattolica e vescovo di Roma, 2º sovrano dello Stato della Città del Vaticano, dal 2 marzo 1939 fino alla morte. Nel 1990, a conclusione della prima fase di beatificazione, ha ricevuto il titolo di servo di Dio. Nel 2009, a conclusione della seconda fase, ha ricevuto il titolo di venerabile, che ne attesta l'eroicità delle virtù per la Chiesa. La causa di canonizzazione è affidata alla Compagnia di Gesù.
