Phil Spector, pseudonimo di Harvey Philip Spector (New York, 26 dicembre 1939 – French Camp, 16 gennaio 2021), è stato un produttore discografico, compositore, cantante e imprenditore statunitense, considerato come una delle figure più influenti e rivoluzionarie della storia della musica. Viene considerato il primo produttore discografico ad aver unito al proprio mestiere anche quello dell'artista, compositore ed esecutore, spesso ponendosi come autentico direttore creativo, scrivendo o scegliendo il materiale, curando gli arrangiamenti, guidando i musicisti e supervisionando ogni aspetto del processo realizzativo. Per questa ragione è stato definito da alcuni "il primo auteur del rock'n'roll". Inventore della tecnica Wall of Sound, da lui definito "approccio wagneriano al rock'n'roll", Spector fu pioniere del sound dei gruppi femminili degli anni sessanta come Crystals e Ronettes, realizzando più di venticinque singoli da Top 40 tra il 1960 e il 1965.
