Joe Louis, pseudonimo di Joseph Louis Barrow (La Fayette, 13 maggio 1914 – Paradise, 12 aprile 1981), è stato un pugile e golfista statunitense, fra i più popolari e prestigiosi campioni della storia del pugilato mondiale. Peso massimo, soprannominato Brown Bomber oppure The People's Champ ("Il campione del popolo"), contribuì a rendere il pugilato uno sport popolare nel periodo conseguente al ritiro di Jack Dempsey, costruendosi una grande reputazione come atleta onesto e laborioso all'interno di una disciplina allora dominata dal gioco d'azzardo. Fu detentore del titolo di campione del mondo per quasi 12 anni: dal 22 giugno 1937 al 1º marzo 1949, durante i quali vinse 27 match validi per il titolo mondiale, record rimasti ad oggi imbattuti nella categoria dei massimi.
