Jerry Lewis, pseudonimo di Joseph Levitch (Newark, 16 marzo 1926 – Las Vegas, 20 agosto 2017), è stato un comico, attore, regista, sceneggiatore, cantante, showman e filantropo statunitense. Fra i più importanti e noti comici statunitensi, ha formato con Dean Martin un sodalizio artistico di grande successo, televisivo e cinematografico, per poi intraprendere la carriera solista come attore e regista a partire dagli anni '60. Al cinema ha dato un contributo originale ed eclettico, creando una maschera comica forgiata su una caratteristica mimica facciale, unita a una gestualità del corpo e a un'esuberanza delle gag del tutto inedite, accompagnate da testi e sceneggiature spesso surreali e graffianti.
