James Wilkinson

James Wilkinson (Benedict, 24 marzo 1757 – Città del Messico, 28 dicembre 1825) è stato un politico e generale statunitense legato a numerosi scandali e controversie. Prestò servizio nell'Esercito continentale nel corso della guerra d'indipendenza americana, ma fu obbligato per due volte a dare le dimissioni. Fu per due volte comandante generale dell'esercito statunitense, nominato primo governatore del territorio della Louisiana nel 1805, e comandò due fallimentari campagne sul San Lorenzo durante la guerra anglo-americana.
