Injo of Joseon

Injo (인조?, 仁祖?, InjoMR), nome personale Yi Jong (이종?, 李倧?, I ChongMR), (Haeju, 7 dicembre 1595 – Changdeokgung, 17 giugno 1649) è stato il sedicesimo re di Joseon. Nipote di re Seonjo e figlio maggiore del principe Jeongwon, salì al trono nel 1623 dopo aver guidato un colpo di stato contro suo zio, Gwanghaegun. Injo è ricordato come un re debole e incompetente, poiché durante il suo regno il Paese vide la rivolta di Yi Gwal, l'invasione della dinastia Jin posteriore, l'invasione della dinastia Qing e una recessione economica, il tutto durante un periodo caratterizzato da un governo corrotto e inefficace.
