Arthur Lee Samuel (Emporia, 5 dicembre 1901 – Stanford, 29 luglio 1990) è stato un informatico statunitense. Pioniere nel campo dell'intelligenza artificiale e dei videogiochi per computer, coniò il termine "machine learning" nel 1959.
