Alfred Hewis Vail (Morristown, 25 settembre 1807 – Morristown, 18 gennaio 1859) è stato un inventore statunitense. Insieme a Samuel Morse, sviluppò e commercializzò il telegrafo, tra il 1837 e il 1844. Alfred e Morse furono i primi a costruire un cablaggio, che andava da Washington a Baltimora.
