Flavius Valens (nom complet en latin : Flavius Iulius Valens Augustus) né vers 328 et mort lors de la bataille d’Andrinople le 9 août 378, est un empereur de l'Antiquité tardive, coempereur de son frère Valentinien Ier pour l’Orient de 364 à 378. Né à Cibalae en Pannonie, il rejoint les rangs de l’armée romaine, tout comme son frère aîné Valentinien, et poursuit une carrière sans histoire, lorsque ce dernier est acclamé empereur par les troupes en 364.
