Alexandre II (Anselmo de Baggio), né vers 1010/1015 à Milan et mort à Rome le 21 avril 1073, est élu 156e pape de l'Église catholique en 1061 et reste en fonction jusqu'à sa mort. Il est le premier pape élu uniquement par le Sacré Collège composé des cardinaux de l'Église catholique. Il contribue à mettre en avant la lutte de l'Église contre la simonie et le nicolaïsme.
