Philippe Gilbert, né le 5 juillet 1982 à Verviers, est un coureur cycliste belge professionnel pendant 20 ans de 2003 à 2022. Coureur offensif, il a notamment remporté le championnat du monde sur route en 2012, le Tour de Lombardie en 2009 et 2010, Paris-Tours en 2008 et 2009, l'Amstel Gold Race en 2010, 2011, 2014 et 2017, le Tour des Flandres en 2017, Paris-Roubaix en 2019 ainsi que la Flèche wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège et la Classique de Saint-Sébastien en 2011. Ses résultats en 2011 lui ont permis de terminer l'année à la première place de l'UCI World Tour.
