Max Merkel, né le 7 décembre 1918 à Vienne en Autriche et décédé le 28 novembre 2006 à Putzbrunn en Allemagne, est un footballeur autrichien reconverti en entraîneur. Il joue notamment au Rapid Vienne dans les années 1940 et 1950. En tant qu'entraîneur, il est notamment sélectionneur de l'équipe des Pays-Bas de 1955 à 1956, et manager du TSV 1860 Munich, de 1961 à 1966 puis en 1974-1975.
