Harry Partch

Harry Partch, né le 24 juin 1901 à Oakland et mort le 3 septembre 1974 à San Diego, est un compositeur et facteur d'instruments de musique américain. Cet autodidacte « éclectique et visionnaire » fut parmi les premiers compositeurs du XXe siècle à faire un travail intensif et systématique avec des gammes musicales microtonales. Une grande partie de sa musique est destinée à des instruments préparés qu'il fabriquait lui-même, accordés selon une échelle musicale à 43 degrés.
