Georg Baselitz, né Hans-Georg Kern le 23 janvier 1938 à Deutschbaselitz (aujourd'hui un quartier de Kamenz en Saxe), est un artiste peintre, sculpteur, graveur et enseignant allemand. Né en Saxe pendant la période nazie, il passe son adolescence en Allemagne de l'Est, puis il vient vivre et étudier en Allemagne de l'Ouest. Sa carrière prend son élan au milieu des années 1960, quand il devient une des figures de l'esprit de Berlin-Ouest et du néo-expressionnisme allemand.
