Frédéric III ou IV dit Le Simple (né le 1er septembre 1341 à Catane, et mort à Messine, 27 janvier 1377) fut roi de Sicile (formellement roi de Trinacrie) et duc d'Athènes et de Neopatras, de 1355 à sa mort. Frédéric eût dû porter le chiffre III derrière son prénom mais il prit le IV pour se conformer au choix effectué par son grand-père, Frédéric III de Sicile, qui prit le III en hommage à l'empereur Frédéric II qui a été roi de Sicile mais ne se désigna jamais sous le nom de Frédéric Ier de Sicile.
