Bernard Sanders, dit Bernie Sanders ([ˈbɝni ˈsændɚz]), né le 8 septembre 1941 à New York, est un homme politique américain. Il est maire de Burlington, plus grande ville du Vermont, de 1981 à 1989, puis élu à la Chambre des représentants des États-Unis de 1991 à 2007, date à laquelle il devient sénateur au Congrès des États-Unis pour le Vermont. Bernie Sanders est longtemps indépendant tout en étant administrativement rattaché aux démocrates du Sénat.
