Adam Mickiewicz, né le 24 décembre 1798 à Zaosie ou à Nowogródek (aujourd'hui en Biélorussie) et mort le 26 novembre 1855 à Constantinople, est un poète, écrivain et militant polonais, considéré comme l'un des plus grands poètes romantiques. Né et ayant grandi sur le territoire de l’actuelle Biélorussie, il a profondément ressenti et exprimé dans ses œuvres l’esprit de la région, ses paysages, sa culture et ses traditions. Son œuvre a exercé une influence notable sur la formation de la littérature biélorussienne moderne, marquant le début d’une nouvelle étape dans son développement.
