Pirro Ligorio

Pirro Ligorio (* 1514 in Neapel; † 30. Oktober 1583 in Ferrara) war ein italienischer Maler, Altertumsforscher, Architekt und Gartenarchitekt des Manierismus. In Rom arbeitete er als Mitarbeiter von Michelangelo und trat nach dessen Tod die Nachfolge als leitender Architekt des Petersdoms an.
