Basava (auch Mahatma Basava, Basaveshwara oder Basavanna; * 1131 in Basavana Bagewadi; † 1196 in Kudalasangama) war ein indischer Politiker, Philosoph, Dichter und Sozialreformer in der Zeit der Chalukya- und Kalachuri-Herrschaft über Mittelindien.
