Aaron, auch Harun († angeblich am Berg Hor, auch Dschabal Harun, Dschabal Hārūn, Djebel Haroun, nahe Petra, heutiges Jordanien) ist nach biblischer Überlieferung der ältere Bruder des Mose und erster Hohepriester der Israeliten. Die Schwester der beiden war Mirjam. Aaron war der Sohn des Amram und der Jochebed, aus dem Stamm Levi und drei Jahre älter als Mose, dessen Sprecher (biblisch „Mund, Prophet“; Ex 4,14 ; Ex 7,7 ) er bei dem israelitischen Befreiungs- und Gesetzgebungswerk war.
