László József Bíró (Hungarian: [ˈlaːsloː ˈjoːʒɛf ˈbiːroː]; né Schweiger; 29 September 1899 – 24 October 1985), Hispanicized as Ladislao José Biro, was a Hungarian inventor who patented the first commercially successful modern ballpoint pen.
